PREMIER YOGA IN MIDDLETOWN

POWER and PEACE
This ‘Fix and Flow’ moves students through vinyasa series, getting their bodies warm and taking that heat into poses which are held for minutes at a time to find release. This powerful combination will create space and strength throughout the body.

BARRE CONDITIONING
This class is an ever-changing format to keep your muscles guessing with traditional barre work, floor barre, resistance band training and upper body and ab work flowing alongside the grace of yoga poses and breath work.


REIKI RESTORATIVE
Half class, half mindfulness relaxation, this class uses classic yoga poses to gently open the body and bring the back into alignment. This practice allows the muscles to relax and open while encouraging the release of stored of tension and toxins. A small dose of hands on Reiki, a form of energy therapy that enhances the natural healing system, will also be given to increase a sense of well-being. 

Haven Yoga offers various practices providing students an opportunity to learn, grow and live through their experiences in the studio.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS


Most classes feature several elements of traditional Ashtanga yoga—including sun salutations, standing poses,
dynamic stretching, pranayama (breathwork) and preparation for arm balances.
These practices will build strength, aid balance and weight loss, while reducing stress and increasing vitality.
Our Vinyasa classes are flowing, dynamic yoga practices that cultivate presence by connecting movement with breath.

Our classes are for every one at every level!
We have many beginners and older students, those with injuries and those who are self conscious about their bodies.

YOGA 101

Each week this class studies a single pose or set of poses, discovering the through-line that runs in yoga asana. Learn proper alignment, where to focus effort and where to find release. Not just for beginners, a strong yoga practice begins with a sturdy foundation, this class can fine tune even an advanced practice. Suitable for all levels.

GENTLE HATHA

A restful, calming class including breathing, gentle flowing movements, passive and supported poses. This is a perfect beginning yoga class that is also appropriate for those working with injury, limited mobility, or who prefer a softer, gentler approach to yoga. Suitable for all levels.


VINYASA FLOW

Sweet Vinyasa is a slower-paced flow class geared towards those new to yoga or preferring a slightly gentler class. Held in a warm room, time is spent breaking down sun salutations and other poses fundamental to a Vinyasa practice. Props and modifications offered for proper alignment and ease in the postures. Suitable for all levels.

HOT VINYASA

Hot Vinyasa classes explore complex movements and sequences including arm balances and inversions layered over solid foundations. Held in a hot room (90 degrees). These classes may incorporate deeper backbends, hip opening, twists, and forward folds. The teacher will encourage rest periods and offer modifications as needed. Suitable for all levels but those new to yoga should start with Sweet Vinyasa.


YIN YOGA

Yin Yoga invites you to slow down and create space for stillness while nourishing joints, ligaments, tendons and fascia. Yin is yoga at its coolest, deepest, quietest, stillest moments. This class will have you on the floor most of the time, using as many props needed to create as little effort while holding poses. Poses are held for 2-5 minutes allowing joints and fascia to release. This class will complement your Vinyasa practice and will open and release areas in need of more attention. Suitable for all levels.

ASHTANGA

Ashtanga Yoga is is a highly structured vinyasa-style class. This dynamic, physically demanding practice synchronizes breath and movement to produce an internal heat designed to purify the body. Ashtanga yoga, with its many vinyasas, is great for building core strength and toning the body. Prepare to sweat as you briskly move through a set sequence.


PIYO

PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility advantages of yoga. And, we crank up the speed to deliver a true fat-burning, low-impact workout that leaves your body looking long, lean, and incredibly defined.

DETOX YOGA

Detox yoga is a gentle flow that restores mind, body, and spirit. Incorporating twists, mild inversions, and circular motions, detox yoga stimulates the digestive, immune and lymph systems, while allowing students to focus on deep, healthful breathing. Detox yoga is a wonderful practice for anyone interested in bettering or maintaining good health, is sure to leave students feeling renewed, and is a great practice for anyone with injury, illness or pain.

INSTRUCTORS



ERICA COLLINS, Studio Director

Erica has been a Nationally Certified Yoga instructor since 2005, has been teaching adult’s yoga since 2000 and children yoga since 2005. She is a 500RYT nationally certified instructor, member of the prestigious RYT (Registered Teacher’s Yoga Alliance and an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist (International Association of Yoga Therapists).
She is extensively trained in Yoga therapeutics, biomechanics, yoga nidra, physiotherapy and meditation. Erica has extensive experience working with bodies teaching numerous forms of dance from ages 2 1/2 to grandparents for over 30 years!

TERI HALL

Born in Nashville she has lived her entire life in Middletown. Married with 6 children, her home is FULL of excitement! Health and Wellness have always been her interest and in 2003 she was introduced to Yoga and certified. Teri is drawn towards a more therapeutic approach and in 2008 completed Registered Yoga Teacher training at ShivaShaki Synthesis. Her hope for each student is that in a safe pain­free way they will increase endurance, willpower and discipline by working not only the body but also the mind.

KRISTEN BRAUN

Kristen began her yoga journey 8 years ago as a way to find balance but soon discovered meaning in her yoga practice, realizing she wanted to share that with others, She carried her practice to Georgia, to the mountains in Wyoming and finally to Columbus, Ohio where she was certified. Kristen lives in Seven Mile with her soon­to­be husband and her dachshund son, Ludwig and believes that yoga is a way to connect to your community,the world around you and ultimately to yourself.

BECKY PERKINS

Becky is a Certified PiYo Live Instructor and Certified Personal Trainer who has been practicing PiYo since 2015. PiYo contributed to Becky losing 50 pounds, gaining lean muscle mass, and reducing her BMI, blood pressure and resting heartrate. As a victim advocacy professional, Becky is especially inspired by the empowerment that comes from gaining strength and confidence through greater fitness.

EMILEE ENGLE

Emilee found yoga in 2012 when she was attending the University of Dayton and hasn’t looked back since. Through her journey, she discovered that it was the best way for her to find space where there wasn’t space before – both in the body and mind. Emilee suffered from lower back pain for the majority of her life and has found relief through the movement that yoga has to offer. She now lives in Middletown where she can do two of her favorite activities – skydiving and teaching yoga. Her flow classes aim to create a welcoming and loving space for all to practice and meet parts of themselves that are yet to be revealed. She can’t wait to meet you on the other side of that journey.

ELLE TOLLIVER

Elle received her 200 YTT certification from Its Yoga Cincinnati, a primarily Ashtanga studio. After suffering from chronic pain and migraines due to Hyper-mobility type Ehlers Danilo’s Syndrome (a connective tissue disorder), Elle became highly motivated to learn how to heal herself through functional medicine and holistic wellness. She plans to attend physical therapy school in the coming years so that she may better dedicate her life to facilitate healing and health through personal education and empowerment. Elle graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and currently works as a veterinary assistant.

KATIE WAGNER

Katie is a free spirit with a passion for life and nature. She has been practicing yoga for nearly half her life, but within recent years has deepened her practice through healing the mind-body connection with subtle awareness. She is accredited with the Yoga Alliance and uses her teaching philosophy to allow others to create space for themselves by tuning into the breath. Through this awareness, she believes the mind becomes of conduit of strength and love for the body. Katie is joined in this life with her husband and two small children who remind her daily to find wonder in the mundane. Her words to live by are not actually hers, but Gandhi’s: Be the change you wish to see in the world.

SUZANNE BYRD

Suzanne completed her yoga teacher training at World Peace Yoga in Cincinnati, a 300-hour course which included learning how to live a Vegan Lifestyle. Born and raised in Monroe, Suzanne has been married for 33 years and has lived in Middletown since 2012. She is very excited to be a part of the Haven community and seeing the downtown bloom. Showing and finding LOVE in Yoga is a gift, and Suzanne is grateful to share that by helping people learn to love it, too. Suzanne also enjoys bicycling, canoeing, camping and hiking.

$12 for a drop­-in class, $10 for seniors and $8 for students enrolled in college/university (Bring Student ID).
Packages are available as well including a 10 ­pack for $100, a monthly unlimited package for $69,
and various promotional offerings such as holiday and weekly specials.
